Our ECO students and Student Union were involved in a live session of the Parliamentary Committee that scrutinises environmental concerns discussing the future of plastics on Wednesday 18 November. Our technology allowed Year 11 students to join in remotely.
The meeting went very well.  They heard from Secretary of State for DEFRA, George Eustice MP, broadcaster, and writer (on the One Show), Lucy Seigle, and Director of the Marine Institute at Plymouth University, Dr Richard Thompson.  There were students from around the UK who were ‘key listeners’ and who asked searching questions which George Eustis mostly answered.

Well done to Ed Bucklow, Freddie Bethell, Kate O’Connor, Maisie Smith, Matthew Willis, Kiera Ramnarain, Willow Hunter, Anna Smalley, Mary Evans, Frankie Polakova, Kara Robinson, Jenna Truscott Davies, Mikolaj Kaczmar and Luca Wade.

We do hope to participate in another live session soon.
